Our practice focused on a holistic approach to treatment. This entails performing a detailed assessment and analysis of your whole-body posture and movement to find the area/region causing or contributing to your problem. This also involves incorporating the patient’s perspectives and goals. 

Pain Management

To reduce pain, improve muscle tension, and mobility of the tissues, muscles, and joints. This is done in conjunction with education and exercises tolerated by the patient.

Rehabilitation

Incorporating personalized exercise programs to enhance mobility, flexibility, strength, and endurance. It also addresses biomechanical issues and dysfunctions to prevent future injuries and educates patients on ergonomics and injury prevention. The exercises were monitored to ensure treatment progression and confidence with the home exercise program to optimize overall function or recovery. 

Orthopaedic Physiotherapy

We focus on utilizing evidence-based assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions, injuries, and disorders affecting muscles, joints, tissues/fascia, bones, ligaments, tendons, and nerve-related issues like nerve root pain and injuries of the peripheral nerves. The aim is to reduce pain and improve movement, flexibility, strength, endurance, and overall function unique to the individual.

Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy (Women/Men’s Health)

We focused on the evidence-based assessment and treatment of conditions related to the pelvic floor muscles, tissues, and ligaments. Weakness, tightness or decreased awareness to contract and relax the muscles could contribute to different pelvic floor issues.

  • Urinary incontinence (stress, urge, mixed, frequency, nocturia)

  • Pre-natal and Post-natal care (e.g., preparation for delivery and recovery from pregnancy)

  • Pelvic girdle pain/low back, and hip pain related to pregnancy

The pelvic physiotherapy assessment may entail an internal exam, however, if this is something you are not comfortable with, we could still provide other treatment approaches to ensure we promote optimal improvement with your function and quality of life.  The treatment also entails an individualized approach of internal and/or external manual therapy techniques like fascia mobilization, therapeutic exercise including breathing exercises, gentle stretches, education on posture and lifestyle modifications, and collaborating with other health care providers.
